First Responders Day

National First Responders Day, which honors the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs and others, who are first on the scene in stressful situations, was inspired in part by the family of Sean Collier, a Massachusetts police officer ambushed and murdered during events related to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. With the support of Collier’s family, in 2017, Congress formally designated October 28th as National First Responders Day.

The Hoan will be lit white (EMS), blue (police), red (fire), and yellow (dispatch/911).
