Group Revs up its public crowdsourcing campaign

Just over a month after our amazing kick-off event, we over here at the Light the Hoan are happy to announce that our public crowdsourcing campaign is off to a great start! In fact, we’re revving up our engines to take us all the way through summer — with some help from House of Harley.


The Milwaukee-based motorcycle dealer recently partnered with Light the Hoan to illuminate the Hoan Bridge. Following a successful special promotion in June, House of Harley dedicated two light bulbs to each new Harley-Davidson owner for a total of $5,000 to help Light the Hoan light up the city’s iconic yellow arches.

An inspiring campaign

“We are proud to contribute to such an inspiring campaign, and look forward to seeing Light the Hoan reach its fundraising goal,” said Jeff Binkert, president of House of Harley-Davidson. “Since opening to the public in 1977, the Hoan Bridge has graced the Milwaukee skyline and become of its most recognizable landmarks. Harley-Davidson riders will agree, that riding over the Hoan Bridge on two wheels is an amazing experience.”

When we first started putting our heads together to Light the Hoan over two years ago, we never could have imagined the level of support we’ve been receiving from our fellow Milwaukeeans. We've additionally been both inspired and moved by your dedications and stories.


We sincerely thank all of our donors, social media followers, media friends, and partners in the business community for helping us spread the word and for having a successful campaign launch!
