MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee residents are about to get a glimpse of what the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge will look like in all of its illuminated glory. This week, Light the Hoan will move forward with a collaboration with Signify, the world leader in lighting, to temporarily install connected LED lighting on the bridge.
It’s all about our effort to help our supporters “imagine the possibilities” of an enhanced skyline.
Representatives from Signify will be spending hours on the Hoan Bridge this week installing a partial panel of dynamic LED lights on the city-facing, north end of the bridge.
The display will then light up the night on Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2, demonstrating the extraordinary capabilities of the technology, from an expanded palette of more than a billion saturated colors. These stunning dynamic effects can then be programmed to commemorate special events, holidays, and important civic causes.
Signify is responsible for illuminating some of the most iconic landmarks in the world, including the Empire State Building; the Jacques Cartier Bridge in Montreal, the Allianz Arena in Munich; and the London Eye, to name a few.
Don’t forget to look to the skyline and check out our Facebook Live this Thursday as the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Celtics! We’ll be syncing the game to lights on the Hoan Bridge.
The lights will dance with every winning play!
